Information on Casters and Operating Conditions
• Casters are replaceable technical elements attached to equipment, platform trolleys, etc., to ensure their mobility.
This information refers to swivel casters intended only for use on non-motorized transport devices and equipment (hereinafter referred to as “objects”), which are generally not in continuous motion and are moved at speeds up to 4 km/h.
• Operating conditions primarily include technically correct installation:
 The product must be firmly attached to the object at all designated mounting points.
 Swivel casters must be installed so that their swivel axis is in a vertical position.
 Fixed (rigid) casters must be installed so that the wheel axles lie on parallel lines.
 Swivel casters installed on the same object must be of the same type.
 The load on one caster is calculated according to the formula:
Q = ((M + m) / (n – 1)) × W
Where:
Q – load on one caster;
M – weight of the transported load;
m – weight of the trolley;
n – number of casters;
W – safety factor, >1 under non-standard operating conditions.
• The caster, bracket, braking and locking systems, as well as the wheel axle, form a single functional unit.
• A necessary condition for the correct selection of casters is the availability of data on all possible loads.
